Hi there Miles! He is so cute snuggling with that little knitted bear in a matching onesie. Miles was welcomed to the world by his parents and awesome big brother. Doesn’t he already look so protective with his hands on that bucket keeping his baby safe? I think these brothers are going to be best buds for life.
When bringing home a newborn baby, it is next to impossible to get just about anything done. It can be especially difficult to get a homemade dinner ready since just about every newborn I have ever met tends to start losing it the moment you start getting dinner prepped. Add already having any other kids at home that need you, and it’s virtually impossible to get dinner made. Someone even sent us a meal delivery box to help make life easier, and honestly, it was SO much more work. I didn’t have time to do all the prep work, not to mention I just didn’t feel like zesting a lime while my baby started to get fussy. While it can all seem daunting, I’ve found a few helpful tips along the way that have actually made things a lot easier. For starters, buy the pre sliced or cut veggies. If you can swing it, it’s totally worth every additional penny because it saves a ton of time. Second, get that crock pot out and when you have a free moment in the morning or mid day, throw all of your ingredients in and you will have nothing to do when the oh so fun witching hours arrive in the evening. Third, and probably my most used, is find every single “one pan meal” recipes that you can find and use them. I can’t even tell you how many times I throw chicken, peppers, and onions with some seasoning on a pan and throw it in the oven. I can throw it over rice or we put them in tortillas for tacos. My family loves this system and it makes life SO much easier. Hopefully this will help you feel a little more confident about handling dinner time with a new born….and if all else fails, there is zero shame in ordering take out because, sometimes dialing that take out phone number is all the extra work that can be done and thats all ok.
